Jobs From Other Servers
Greetings,
I recently walked into an existing environment running Acronis True Image 23.5.17750. The customer has the True Image application installed on multiple servers. TI is scanning the network to provide a single pane of glass to all True Image jobs.
Is there a setting or registry modification to stop the network lookups? O
ther support engineers are reporting a single failure multiple times, by first seeing failures locally and then seeing the same failures over the network. We can talk through this issue, but it's likely to return when the NOC is busy.
We're already committed to logging in to each server daily, so I'm trying to keep the GUI local.
Thanks,
DV

DV,
True Image is a consumer grade product not designed for use in a server environment. By default True Image scans systems where installed including networks for available backup files. It does this so that a users backup files locations are known to the application. Once located this behavior still happens upon opening the True Image app but the time it takes to do so is reduced significantly in most cases.
My suggestion for your client would be to encourage them to move to Acronis Cyber Cloud which is the Enterprise version of True Image. Anyone running servers really needs to be on that platform.

Steve,
Your advice saved me a lot of time and effort. I was tempted to scrounge the web and registry for anything to modify.
I used the term "server" very loosely. Windows 10 is installed on the host machines and VMWare Desktop runs the actual Windows servers. Since ATI is installed on Windows 10 we have no compatibility issues.
ATI isn't the best product for server environments, but this technically works. We can backup VMDK files, or the entire host in a volume including the partition with the VMDK files.
It's a dev solution. The client needs to take these servers to a professional level.
At least everyone knows how Acronis works and we'll balance this for the time being!
Thanks Again,
DV

Enchantech,
Thank you. The "problem" definitely happened when we closed and re-opened the application!
