Just want to make sure I am clear
Even though I set ATI 2020 to save no more than n backups, if the space on the drive gets tight, it won't automatically delete the backup necessary and I won't be able to delete them manually. Is that correct?
Please let me know.

Thanks, Steve. I did the "Clean up versions" and it couldn't delete anything as there was not enough room. I had to move some files to another drive and then I could. BUT, the big issue is that a backup hadn't occurred for several weeks as the drive didn't have the room for n+1. Shouldn't ATI know when there is limited room and proactively clear enough space? In addition, if my backup didn't run for some reason, shouldn't ATI notify me?
Are you saying that I routinely have to go in and manually delete old backups? Seems weird.

Bob, if your drive doesn't have enough free space then you need to adjust your cleanup settings to make n a lower value.
If you want ATI to notify you on low space then you would need to configure this in the Notification page settings (at the top of the page) for your backup task where you can set a value for free space remaining.
