Renaming old backup?

Thread solved

After two weeks of constant blue screens, I reluctantly decided to reinstall WIndows on my XPS 9560.

I'm using True Image 2021 & made a full backup, with the plan to restore files/folders as needed & so far, all has worked as planned. I want to keep that backup for a while, in the event I find I'm missing anything, bu5t since computer is named the same, I want to rename that backup to something like MikeWin10-Old, is it as simple as renaming the ,tibx file to that? Then should I need something, I can just open that backup & recover from it? Or should I just move that to a subfolder?

Mike, there is a rename option in the main ATI GUI for each task but this only renames the task not the backup files as far as I understand.

If you want to rename the backup file (.tibx) then it is best to remove the task settings from the ATI GUI first, then also turn off Acronis Active Protection, after which you should be able to rename the file in Explorer.

The file doesn't need to be listed in the ATI GUI to recover files or folders from it, you should be able to just double-click on the .tibx file in Explorer then use normal Copy & Paste controls.

when opening that tibx file, I see 4 files in there, assuming these were from the incremental backups, & opening each of them gives me contents of the computer, but no option to recover files through the program. If I validate that backup, will it be accessible, like my othr current backup?

Mike, if you are opening the tibx file in Explorer, then you should be able to use normal Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) commands to recover files or folders.
