Restore specific user files only from Entire PC backup?

Thread solved

Hi

Is it possible to select and restore individual user files (e.g. from Documents folder) from an "Entire PC" backup?

Thanks

B R, in principle this should be absolutely possible as any 'Entire PC' or disks & partitions backup will contain all the user files for the selected disk drives.

Any issues in doing this will arise from ownership of the files.  If the restore is done on the same system and user account where the backup was created from, then again, this should be easy / easiest!  If being done on a different system, then you may have to take extra steps to recover files that belong to a different user / owner.

Thank you for confirming that Steve.

I thought the same if I mount the backup and then navigate my way to the required files. Good point about ownership that I had forgotten about. Thanks.

My initial concern was from a long time ago memory that it wasnt possible to select individual files from an entire system image. But that is most likely to have been using an alternative backup utility unless this was the case with very old versions of ATI.

Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year and my thanks and appreciation to you for giving your time and expertise to this community.
