SSD Cloning error

Thread needs solution

Hello, I tried to clone my current SSD (128Go) using Acronis True Image for Crucial, (Build 39450) to a new crucial SSD (1To) using a sata/usb cable.

I have an error : Failure to write on sector 5 of disk 3. (0x1000DA) device that does not exist was specified. (0xFFF0)
when I click on retry, it says I need to restart the computer but the estimated time stop and If I try to restart it says some acronis programs are still running.. If I wait I just go back to the desktop after a few moment and it says cloning failed and to consult the journal for details.. there is no journal also..
If someone have a solution ?
thanks

EDIT : I also have a HDD on D:/

Jordan, welcome to these public User Forums.

See KB 2201: Support for OEM Versions of Acronis Products which applies to all OEM versions of ATI supplied with hardware purchases.

See the following KB documents.

KB 56634: Acronis True Image: how to clone a disk

KB 61665: Acronis True Image 2019, 2020 and 2021: Active Cloning in Windows

Note: it is strongly recommended that you make a full disk backup of the source clone drive to an external storage drive before using cloning in case of any mistakes or issues arising.

Disk numbering by Acronis is not the same as that used by Windows.  Windows starts at disk 0 but Acronis starts at disk 1, so disk 3 in the error message = Windows disk 2.

The error also advises that this is a snapshot manager write error - download the Acronis VSS Doctor tool and run this to check for errors in the VSS service that is used to create and capture snapshot data.

Download a copy of the MVP Assistant log viewer tool and use this to look at the logs to see if they show any issues during the operation process?

The latest version of the new log viewer tool is at the link below.
MVP Assistant - New 2.0 with Rescue Media Builder (New Version 2.6.1)

If you have Disks & Partitions backups created on ATI 2020 or later using .tibx files, then look in the Backup Worker logs.

If you have Files & Folders backups using .tib files (or Disk backups from earlier versions using .tib files) or using Cloning then look in the Demon logs.

Other logs are shown by the MVP Assistant under the 'Active Logs' heading of the Log Viewer page of the Assistant.

The Schedule2 log contains information related to scheduled task but is one of the more difficult logs to read / work through.

The log files should be zipped to preserve their original file names if sharing in the forums and would need to be less than 3MB in size, otherwise you would need to share the zip file via a Cloud share service such as OneDrive, Dropbox etc.
