True Image Boot Media hangs at loading screen

Thread needs solution

Hello everyone.

I need to restore my backup (Windows 7 64-bit SP1 clean install) , but the ATI boot media does load anymore.

I have tried different builds and versions:

UEFI mode, normal mode, Bootable USB drive, Bootable CD, different versions, different architecture, v2020, v2017NG, different USB drives (LG, Kingston, Lexar, SanDisk)

Nothing works. I spend about 7 hours until 6 AM without any results.

Now I am totally lost and have no idea what could be going on.

Since I deleted and formatted my drive, there is no working OS anymore.

Does anyone have an idea of what to do?

My

hardware is:

ASUS MAXIMUS VIII HERO

Crucial 1TB SSD

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Vittorio, welcome to these public User Forums.

Sorry but more questions than answers at first here!

Do you have a second computer where you could test your ATI rescue media by booting that computer from the media?

Do you know how the ASUS MAXIMUS VIII HERO computer normally booted into Windows from the BIOS?  Was this using UEFI / GPT with the Windows Boot Manager as the boot device, or was it using Legacy / CSM / MBR with the Crucial 1TB SSD as the boot device?

When doing a bare metal recovery, it is important that you try to match the Boot mode of the OS to that of the rescue media.

KB 59877: Acronis True Image: how to distinguish between UEFI and Legacy BIOS boot modes of Acronis Bootable Media

If you are not sure about the OS boot mode, then look inside the Acronis backup image file to see what partitions are there?  If you see a EFI System partition, this is UEFI, otherwise if you see a System Reserved partition with no EFI one, it is Legacy.

USB rescue media should boot more quickly than using CD/DVD media but both of these are booting into memory, so you may need to run any memory diagnostics provided via the BIOS for your ASUS PC, or else boot from Windows 7 or 10 install media and take the memory test option found there.

Vittorio,

Good news is the media is booted and you are waiting for True Image application to finish loading by the looks of your screenshot.

Patience is a virtue here.  Go have beverage of your choice, when you return the app should be up and running.

It can take a long time to complete loading; one of my PCs has 3 M.2 NVMe drives, 10 SATA drives (3 SSD), and two add-in disk controllers, and it takes quite a while for the recovery media to find all the attached devices and load the necessary drivers.
