Try and Decide + Backup

Thread needs solution

I have always been careful to never run Try & Decide and Backup at the same time.  I am using Acronis 2020.

However today I accidently ran Disk backup while Acronis Try and Decide was running.

The SSD had two disk partitions that I backed up.  One partition was protected by Try and Decide and the other was not.

The backup was to a different internal HHD which, of course was not protected by Try and Decide at the time.

It was a small backup as just a few hours previous I did a backup on the same .tibx but then installed a new program and decided to do an incremental backup on the same .tibx .  This last incremental backup was the one that had Try and Decide running.

There was no warning message that told me Try and Decide was running, and Everything seemed to work normally, but I have not verified the new backup yet.  Everything seems to run as always with no error messages.

So my question is:  Is this supported and expected to work correctly?

AND if it did, what did I actually backup up?  The actual HHD or the Try & Decide version of it?

I have never bothered with Try&Decide; only used it in beta testing. Looking at what is said in the user guide I conclude that it is as intended. It backed up the full HDD. I assume that Try&Decide sandboxes the particular activity rather than creating a full virtual machine which is what I think you are suggesting.

So, if recovered the backup, when you loaded Windows it would be with Try&Decide active.

The best way to work out what happened would be to mount the backup and see if the program is listed under Program Files or Program Files (x86). If it is not, then there is a sandboxing if it is then that suggests something quite different.

To be honest I am just engaging in informed speculation.
