Acronis 2021 Background services in win 10
How do I turn off the Acronis 2021 Background services in Win 10.. I use Task manager and try to end the task(s) but to no avail they keep on restarting.. Some I cannot have the option to terminate.. The reason I what to turn them off is that I run DAW Recording software combined with Guitar/Keyboard software. I don't need unnecessary cpu and ram usage.. Especially updaters.. Usually I disconnect from the internet when I use the Music software....I would like the option of closing anything that deals with acronis while recording.. A simple bootup will start everything again.. The only other solution is to uninstall this software and not use it..
Interesting, so by turning off the "Active Protection" in Acronis is not completely turning off the background protection services...What does the turning off the "Active Protection" do? I personally think this is misleading and I should have the option (if I need it). .Anyway I like the backup, but never run the protection services.. Really slows down the computer and interferes with high cpu/ram software..(especially 2021)..By turning off the Active Protection because it lags the computer, why do I need it?
Troy, in ATI 2021 Acronis have entered the Cyber Protection business by combining this with the core Backup, Recovery & Clone features of ATI, as such, they are trying to make it as difficult as possible for malware to disable these features as part of an attack on the PC.
Even when you 'Turn off ALL protection permanently' using the option in the ATI 2021 Protection page, this still leaves the background Acronis protection services running, and this is the same even on the basic Standard / perpetual edition of ATI 2021 which doesn't have Cyber Protection unless the users takes a trial run of it!
Please submit Feedback directly to Acronis (use the tool provided in the GUI Help section) and complain about the imposition of these new protection features plus ask for your vote to be added to the Acronis internal change request: TI-213392 Allow installation without Antimalware components.
Acronis Active Protection was originally introduced in ATI 2017 Next Gen version then made standard in ATI 2018 to 2020 with the stated intent of protection from ransomware (for ATI backup files and program data). With ATI 2021 AAP has been integrated with the new Cyber Protection features along with a new AAKore service component that then handles protection updates, vulnerability scans etc. All of which is now bloating an otherwise good application apart from the issues introduced by Acronis is migrating to the new .TIBX archive format files in ATI 2020 and reducing / limiting key core functions!
Personally, I don't want all this extra protection bloat - I was reasonably happy with the original implementation of AAP in ATI 2020 with its minimal overheads, but like many other users, I dislike intently the new Protection with its always active even when turned off imposition!
Ok, Thanks Steve.. I turn off what I can, and if it does interfere with my other software I will simply do what I did with others, simply uninstall.. To Bad though, I "might" go back to 2020 and scrap 2021..(with a Refund)
Ok, Tried closing additional background and the only two I cant shut off is "Acronis Active Protection Service" and "Acronis CYBER Protect Service".. Closed everything else and they dont interfere with DAW recording...Few tweaks with windows and ok.. I disconnect from the internet anyway...Will disable on boot up if needed..
