ATI Bootable flashdrive unable to create backup on Asus FX706LI-HX204 laptop

Thread needs solution

Dear gentlemen,

I attempted several times to create a backup / image of my system partition using the ATI bootable flashdrive application but it always gets frozen as soon as I hit Next (after setting the archive name and location).  No response to any button / menu is clicked although the mouse cursor is still movable on screen. Simply the program does not start creating the .tibx archive even though I tried several versions of the bootable versions (Build 30290, 30480, 34340). Please see attached screenshot when the program freezes. I don't suppose is relevant but I use

Edition    Windows 10 Pro
Version    20H2
Installed on    ‎11/‎19/‎2020
OS build    19042.867
Experience    Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0

Your kind support / guidance enabling me to create the backup, would be highly appreciated.

I have always been very satisfied with the Acronis in the past but the new laptop seems to support only Acronis 2021 (perhaps due to UEFI, otherwise the internal SSD is not detected by old versions of Acronis).

With many thanks and best regards, Nicu Dorojan.

Nico, welcome to these public User Forums.

What current build of ATI 2021 are you using here?  Build 39216 is the latest one!

What type of rescue media are you using?

For the ATI 2018 & later version rescue media, there are 3 different versions available:
Simple:  created based on your Windows Recovery Environment for WinPE media.
Advanced: created based on Windows ADK (or AIK for earlier OS versions) - WinPE media.
Advanced: created based on a small Linux distro OS (BusyBox) or created from the .ISO CD image download from your Acronis Account page.

I would recommend using the ATI 2021 Simple rescue media.

See KB 65508: Acronis True Image 2021: how to create bootable media and KB 59877: Acronis True Image: how to distinguish between UEFI and Legacy BIOS boot modes of Acronis Bootable Media

How long did you wait for the app to respond before giving up?  Sometimes it takes awhile for the app to respond.  If the E: disk for example is a large capacity HDD it may take a few minutes for the app to scan that disk before moving forward in the process.
