Automatic update installed the Cyber Protection -- I already have a very good virus protection product
I had no idea your were going to install a anti-virus application in addition to my backup product. The CPU utilization (about 70+) was preventing any work I was trying to do. Do not need 2 anti-virus products.

With a ATI 2019 installation, despite having Active Protection disabled, both TrueImageMonitor and Anti_ransomeware_service run consuming 100% of a core, causing reduced performance in every other task and maxing out the laptop fans.
There is no active process window to allow direct control over the processes, so you have to resort in terminating the service through task manager. There is no configuration option to schedule (if even wanted) when the process runs. As a 2019 customer Acronis are not offering support.
This is yet, another example of feature creep, to justify increase in costs. Instead of focusing on the core feature 'backups'. Features should be decoupled so the end-user can choose what they pay for, install and run.
Unauthorized activity is no different than the malware they are claiming to prevent.

Anthony, if Active Protection is turned off as shown in your screen image, then it should not be running with high CPU regardless of the background service remaining active.
Please open the ATI 2019 main GUI and then look at the Protection tab to see if it shows that ATI is monitoring any of your active system processes, as this is known to cause increased CPU usage.
If there are monitored processes, then if these are known to be safe, set an exclusion for them to stop the monitoring when they are used.
