Post-Command to Sleep after backup is complete?

Thread solved

Is there a way to use the Post-Command feature to enter Sleep after a backup is completed?

Normally my PC is set to Sleep after 60 minutes in inactivity but when my daily 3am backup is complete I'd like it to enter sleep mode right away. Can I do this with a Post-Command?

Spoolin, welcome to these public User Forums.

The key issue with using a Post Command to put your PC to sleep is that the Acronis backup task will then fail because the post command script doesn't return a successful exit code because of the action it is performing!

One way that may get you around the above would be to use a Post Command to change the normal Sleep timeout from 60 minutes to such as 5 minutes, but you may then need to reset this back again in a further script to run when the computer wakes up again via the Windows Task Scheduler.

See webpage: Power & Sleep Settings - how do I change these in Powershell?

and webpage: PowerCfg - for details of all the command options / settings.

Thanks for the idea. I may give that a go.
