Right procedure to restore to the latest date available
Hi All,
Due to a power failure I cannot startup Windows 10 anymore. I have 1 full backup and 4 incremental backups. When I tried to restore the latest incremental backup, nothing happened. The problem still was there. So I restored the full backup. But the full backup is one month old, so I tried to restore the first incremental backup on top of the full backup. That worked. So next step to do was to restore the second incremental backup. But during recovering I was no longer able to select the destination drive. The drive was greyed out. Any idea how to fix this? BTW, is this the right procedure to restore a computer: recover steps, FB -> 1 IB -> 2 IB -> 3 IB -> 4 IB or can I just recover the FB and then the 4 IB ?
I hope someone can help me.

Hello Steve,
Thank you for your reply. I had a lot of issues finding out the right procedure to restore a backup.
Thanks to your help and the following links (see below) I managed to restore a backup. Unfortunately without any success. Windows 10 will just not start, It still is in an endless loop starting up. I restored my system to 21 october 2020. At that time my system was fine, but the backup is not restoring quite well. I am now trying to back up the system to 15 october 2020. It is going to cost me a lot of data but I hope the system starts up well.
Sadly to see that the original creation of a boot media within Acronis is not working. Using Win32DiskImager and the help of other people pointed me in the right direction. Hopefully the restoring of the backup of 15 october 2020 will work. Still busy in the recovering process. This is my third day, trying to restore the latest backup :-( I am very tiered of doing so. I spend more than 12 hours of finding out the right procedure and to pick the right backup file. Quite a hassle...

Peter, sorry to read of the ongoing problems with Windows 10.. Are you restoring all the partitions from your backup image, including those which are hidden / system partitions which are used by the OS when booting?
