Thread needs solution

Why is ATI loading TWELVE background processes and slowing my computer startup to a crawl?

This is ridiculous!

I had to reboot twice this morning just to get my computer running. These TWELVE processes were taking 30% of the computer's CPU and I couldn't get anything going.

I've gone into Windows 10 Services and nuked them all. I've gone into the Task Manager and nuked them there as well.

I'm now scared to run Acronis True Image because I know they'll all start up again.

Sean, welcome to these public User Forums.

See KB 65464: Acronis True Image 2021: Windows services and processes - which describes all of the new services etc now found in ATI 2021.

Unfortunately, even when you 'Turn off all protection permanently' in the Protection settings panel, this does not stop the associated background services though the CPU / resources used should be reduced to a minimal (once all protection updates & default vulnerability scan has completed!).

Please submit Feedback directly to Acronis (use the tool provided in the GUI Help section) and complain about the imposition of these new protection features plus ask for your vote to be added to the Acronis internal change request: TI-213392 Allow installation without Antimalware components

Thanks Steve.
Software bloat kills more products than anything.
