All files from destination backup partition is missing !

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have serious problem with Acronis. Its my fresh job and at start have huge trouble.
My boss give me his notebook and ask about make full backup. His give me booting cd with Acronis and told then its company version which they used from long time.

I rebooted notebook and make full backup C: partition. Destitnatioin is D: partition where stored already some my boss files. Backup is started but about 89% told me then "data corrupted" and interrupted. After it a try make again same thing : Select C: as source and D: like destination. But after start i press "CANCEL" button.

When i rebooted and start system i see there is no any files on D: partition - only some TIB files from interrupted C: partition backup. Strange things it they system still told then 90% disks its used. Its looks like all files be here but invisible.

Its any chance fixed it ?

Please help. ( after boot acronis on top window is Acronis True Image Echo Enterprise Server )

Hello Greg!

Thank you for finding time to join us, we're glad to greet you here! I underdstand your concern, and will be glad to assist you.

There can be many reasons for this problem, but before we proceed with investigation, please note that according to the Acronis License Policy you will need one license for one computer your are going to backup or restore. Thus in case you're backing up the machine without a free license for it, it would be a violation of Acronis License Policy.

It's hard to say for sure due to the lack of diagnostic information, but it looks like the issue was caused by some issues on the drive. Please boot machine up, go to Start -> Run -> cmd and issue there the following command:
chkdsk /f /r
and reboot the computer.

This should ensure us that the are no bad blocks. Please, if possible, also please try to save the backup to any other suitable location.

In case the issue remains, please gather:

  1. Acronis Report
  2. Recovery log

After that please kindly contact support directly with the information attached. Keep in mind that should there be any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify us the case number. We will do our best to speed up the process.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!
