Sector 63 Issue Revisited - Here is a Prime Example of Acronis Support

Thread needs solution

Hi Carol. Yes 100 posts is a lot. the only one I have see go longer is the one with BR10 where you can't overwrite previous backups :)

I guess it is a little late in the game to be bringing things up but what the heck. About the only thing close to your Sector 63 situation I have had happen is on one server. The first time the USB drive is swapped the server doesn't pick it up. In playing with it I have found that at that point if I unplug the usb drive, wait 10 seconds and plug it back in the server recognizes it.

I took the path of least resistance and told the lady swapping drives on a nightly basis to do just that. Plug the new drive in. Unplug it and then plug it back in a second time. For some reason it works and only takes an addition 15 seconds to do. As I said I took the path or least resistance :)

I haven't read the entire thread but just for those people who may have the same problem as me, here is what worked for me.

I disconnected the two very large (2 terabyte) USB drives and the backup proceeded without the "sector 63" error.

My backup was of a folder on partition 2 (drive D:) of my laptop's internal disk to a 1.5 terabyte external USB drive. Acronis True Image Home 11 works without generating the error provided my other large external USB drives are not connected.

I can live with that.

I recently tried downloading trueimage.exe and trueimageservice.exe from http://forum.acronis.com/sites/default/files/content/2005/12/1514/faile… , but noticed the links to the files have been discontinued. Does anyone from Acronis have any insight on this? I need these files for Acronis True Image SBS. Does anyone know where else I can find these files?

Hello Michael,

Thank you for posting. Let me help you with this issue please.

I've checked the links from the article that you mention and they seem to be working.

I will send you a private message with the required files.

If you have additional questions please let me know.

Thank you.

Thanks, Anton!

Downloaded and replaced appropriate files, and worked like a charm!
