True Image 9.1 Server - No OS boot after failed install
I'm working on setting up a new Dell server with 2008 R2 Standard installed and was not aware True Image 9.1 was not supported on the Windows platform at the time I tried to install it. Part way through the install the installer came up with the error setup was terminated unexpectedly and the progress bar rolled backwards. Next time the server was rebooted it will only boot to the Dell recovery partition. No safe mode no use last good settings no anything. I can however get to the partition server is installed on using the command prompt and see that the load is sitting there. The first thing I noticed is at the dos prompt my windows partition is now X: instead of C:
I have tried to restore the MBR with no luck whatsoever. Is this something that can be recovered from or am I out of luck and need to just reload the server and throw a day of configuration and software loading down the drain?
I didn't think Acronis products did anything with the boot/partition tables during the initial install of the product. I was always under the impression changes of that nature were made at the time the recovery partition option was initiated.
Any help or insight is appreciated.

Hello Robert!
Welcome to our Forum and thank you for finding time to share your experience with us, we really appreciate it.
I sincerely regret that you've faced this inconvenience. You are correct: Acronis True Image 9.1 Server doesn't support Windows 2008, and was never tested on it, so it's hard to say what exactly went wrong. I would suggest you to try fixboot in addition to fixing MBR from the Windows CD, it may help to resolve the problem.
You can find the detailed steps in this KB article.
