True Image workstation 9.1 build 3,887 fails to mount image

Thread needs solution

I'm in the process of moving to a new desktop system (XP SP3) and have an issue with mounting backup images in read-only mode.
On my old system (also XP SP3) all is working fine. I can mount (read-only) the image that fails on my new system.
When I mount the image on my new system, the system dies (hangs). Only a hard reset helps me at that point.

Thanks for all help!

Hello Peter,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for posting. I will do my best to assist you with this issue.

There are multiple reasons for mounting failure, starting from corruption of the backup file to software incompatibility issues. We have a detailed troubleshooting guide which is available here. If the article fails to help you, we can try a few workarounds:

1. Try exploring the backup, simply double click on the .tib file and browse through it using Windows explorer. You can also copy the files from it to your computer.

2. Try recovering files/folders from the backup. Please check page 58 from our user guide which is available here.

3. Using the bootable media you can also recover files/folders from the backup.

If you have additional questions, please let me know.

Thank you.
