2010 TIH - Downloaded boot disk - not sure how to proceed

Thread needs solution

Hi, when I had to reinstall TIH a few days ago, I also downloaded the boot disk. I have made a boot disk before (following instructions in TIH), however, I am not quite sure, how to deal with the one, I have just downloaded. Do I unzip it or burn it as it is. I can get an ISO Recorder. Is it enough to have the normal boot disk or should I use the one that was on the website. Thanks for any help. Helga

When you buy ATI off the shelf, the CD works like a boot CD. IF yo buy it online, you can make a bootcd from within ati, whenit runs under windows. That's the CD you should use. However, if that CD doesn't work on your machine -- say it doesn't boot properly or doesn't see all your drives, then you should download the bootCD iso file and burn that to a blank cd and use the cd as your BootcD -- where the other didn't work, the download one might. It uses a diff loader and some diff drivers. The one makde from within ATI is genrally a better choice if it works on your machine.

Did the iso downlad as a file with a zip or an iso extension. IF zip then unzip (ie., extract) the iso file that the zip file cdontains -- you can do this using windows Explorerer. Use any cd burner, Nero, imgburn, windows, to burn the iso to a CD.
