48686: Acronis True Image 2015 Errors

Thread needs solution

I have recently installed Acronis True Image 2015 on computer running Windows 8.132 bit. While attempting to gather information to send in as requested, I have not been able to access the website to download the zip file that creates a registry patch for gathering snapshot information. That link does not work for me using email address for username

Did you install over the top of an earlier version of True Image?

Have you tried running a repair install of True Image?

It may be that an earlier version of SNAPMAN.sys has not been updated by the install.

Thank you very much for your concern!
This was a completely new install. Should I try running repair install? Also what about the attempt to obtain patch in order to gather the information needed?

John,

I have the same issue on 2 laptop and created the log files they need to troubleshoot. You may want to read this post of mine:

https://forum.acronis.com/forum/67880

I ordered a copy of Acronis 2014 from a third party and will be replacing the Acronis TrueImage 2015.

Thank you very much!
Have you been able to solve your problem? Is it possible that Acronis 2014 is better? I have not been able to download the patch that will enable me to obtain the necessary registry information to send to technical support. They also offer a manual solution that requires too much registry editing for me. After all I am 87 years old and going through a terrible time of remembering.
It is been several years since I have used Acronis True Image. It used to be a great product. When hard drives became cheap, I would clone one and then use it, saving the original on my backup.

John,

No, there is no resolution yet. And front the email I received from Acronis, I'm not optimistic there will be one shortly. So I've ordered ATI 2014 which I have installed many other places and have no issues.

If you take the time to read through this forum, you'll find that many have reverted from TrueImage 2015 back to 2014. This thread will provide some of the reason users are choosing an earlier version:

I was not able to download the "patch" to enable the SnapAPI logging either. I just manually created the registry entries to enable it.

Incompatible media message

I have just installed Acronis True Image 2015. When I try to make a bootable media disc, it first says that the disc has been successfully created but then I get an Incompatible Media error message. I have tried both CDR and DVD-R media with the same result. Should I ignore the message?

I can burn successful audio cds so the drive must be OK.

It looks like I might have had some success. For that I would like to thank all the people on this forum for trying to help me. Someone asked if I tried to run backup from the creating bootable media. Well that's just what I did. I created the bootable media on a DVD-R disc. I reinserted it and restarted computer. When computer restarted it was to the bootable media disc. At first I did not do anything and after reaching the menu with selective choices, and a few seconds it automatically booted Windows. I then restarted computer and going through the same process, but when arriving at the menu with selective choices, I clicked on the backup image. After that there are other menus about what to backup and the destination of the backup. Now it is my opinion that there should be more information on how to perform this task. In the user guide and other documents, I don't believe there is nearly enough information available. When attempting to troubleshoot my problems I could find nothing. It get so frustrated when you have to search and search, click it on links that will lead you to know where. Some of the links don't work at all, or I am not smart enough to put in the right information. LOL!!
When my backup completed in about two hours, apparently with no errors, and after a long rest, I ran validation that took another hour and a half. I have a 1 TB hard drive with five partitions including systems Reserve partition. I didn't discover that I might have been doing something wrong, because I was selecting the petitions I wanted backed up. I believe I read somewhere that the first backup must be a complete backup.
Down below is a screenshot of the backup window. The partition backups all of them failed. The backup complete was successful.
I'm still a little confused about the language of the backup written at the top. Can someone explain that to me?
Thank you.
