6574 bugs still there

Thread needs solution

tested the new version for my favorite bug. Disk backup options do not retain custom settings and default doesn't work. Bug is still there. I was so disgusted that I did not check for the Wacom tablet bug before I uninstalled. Users need direct access through the telephone to the programers to explain these things. E- mail and paying to report bugs does not work.

Richard,

What OS are you using and could you post the custom settings that aren't being retained for you?

Hello all,

Thank you for your messages and your kind assistance is appreciated Colin.

Richard, I will do my best to assist you.

Would it be possible to provide us with additional information?

Looking forward to your reply and if you have additional questions please let me know.

Thank you.

I do not want to reinstall to accurately describe this bug. Basically, from memory, if you edit a task and change a setting in auto cleanup then go to some other tab on the right ( i forget the name) the settings in auto cleanup are reset to the original. It's not hard to find this bug. Just play around in the menu in this area.

I have a custom scheme based on differential. ATIH2011 fails to retain my cleanup rules between invocations of the GUI. It seems to retain them as long as I'm in the session where I defined them.  I've not kept the GUI up long enough to see if it obeys them.

There is no version 6574 - anymore ;-) Perhaps you should try again with the next update...

Turns out your memory is better than my attempt at duplication. Whether or not ATIH2011 retains your cleanup rules does depend on which tab is selected when you click "OK" in the Disk Backup Options dialog, as I explain here.

Its not quite that simple. I have a whole different problem where the clean up options simply turn off. It seems to happen whenever I edit an existing task. When I first create the task they set OK, but afterwards they will reset to off.

But, as others have said, they've pulled this update anyway. So I guess we hope for better next time!

It turns out that actually is the side effect of clicking "OK" in the Disk Backup Options dialog with the "Advanced" tab selected. I corrected myself over in the other thread.

What I've done now is make sure the "Backup scheme" tab is selected before I leave that dialog. Now, I'm waiting for time to tell if my cleanup rules stick.

No. I've definitely clciked on OK from the "Backup Scheme" tab, when editing an existing task, and still had the clean-up options reset.

Hopefully when "update 1" returns (update 1.1?!) it will be better.

I seem to have a different 6574 bug. The WinPE ISO builder appears to not work for lack of "bootmenu.bin".

Same here I just received the same error message

Furthermore the current version 6597 has the same problem. I finally got Acronis to believe it. I finally got to a higher tier support person who found a work-around. I think that he copied the Bart file from the ATIH Add-on in place of that in the Plus Pack. Check that to verify that the bootmenu.bin file is present and then copy it.

Dale,

Yes this is the workaround I found myself. The "missing" files are in the program (x86)\common files\Acronis\mediabuilderhome. I had to copy these files over to the bart directory for the WinPE to find them.

Later I ended up repairing ATI and reinstalling the Plus Pack. That time, the missing files issues disappeared without the manual workaround.

So copy the bootmenu.bin into the bart directory?

Check this out.

Backup your original directory content before overwriting the files.
