Access to the file or folder is denied
PRODUCT: Acronis True Image 2015
BUILD: 6525
WINDOWS 7 64 bit
When trying to do a full or a simple file backup to the network Acronis is failing. I am backing up to a network share mapped to my G drive. It says I am denied access to my share.
I am logged on using my ad account. I can create files at the location with no permissions issues
QUESTIONS:
1. How do I enter the password. I cannot find any screen to enter my AD account PW.
2. Why is it not using windows authentication.
Error: Cannot access backup file \\life.pacificlife.net\life\Home\QZ\sskinner\AcronisBackups\DB2 Install_full_b1_s1_v11.tib. Please ensure that you entered the correct credentials for the network share.."

I created a new full backup on Friday night and Acronis is not having any issues finding this backup. The reason looks to be very simple, my first one was named "FULL BACKUP" and the new one is "FULLBKUP". By eliminating the space in the backup name I am no longer having any file access issues. Look like the developers forgot to quote the file names before trying to access the file. A real DUH on there part.
This new UI is terrible. I understand you have to dumb it down for the masses, but give us seasoned Acronis users advanced option to set everything including our passwords for AD accounts. I am a newbie in the forums, but have been using Acronis for around 10 years.

Sorry it took so long to respond. I have to do it from home. I am blocked at work.
I did resolve one issue. Don't put a space in the backup file name. ATI2015 cant find the backup after it has created it. Somewhere they must not be quoting the path and file name. (windows programming 101).
My main objection to 2015 is the dumbing down of the interface. I run 2013 at home. They need an advanced user mode or screens where you can put in your credentials. My AD password changes every 90 days and I need to modify the password BEFORE the next backup runs. I guess their programmers never have to change their passwords.
I do not have an option to create another account to do my backup. I must backup to the network and even if I created an account on my machine it would not have any rights to the network.
Bottom line. This is a unusable version for the work environment.

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle.
You've solved my problem. Had True Image for years, and put it to great use on my desktop computer via a USB drive. Never quite got up to scratch on the laptop, but I figured that was the horrible wi-fi signal in my house and throughput was miserable. Well, last year I forked out for a Synology NAS and this year I cabled my house with Cat6 and added two Ubiquiti 802.11ac access points, upstairs and downstairs. Figured I would finally try and get my laptop backup running.
Couldn't get it (True Image 2014) to work. Error message was something like "Error occurred while creating the file..".
Tried many things:
- Windows account settings - nope
- NAS account settings - nope
- Firewall - nope
- Antivirus software - nope
- Upgraded Acronis 2014 to 2015 - nope (Same "ERROR: Cannot access backup file..." message as above)
- Spaces in the path/filename - you betcha!!
Nice to know at least that I wasn't just being an idiot!
Backup proceeding nicely this .. morning at 12.33am. No spaces to be seen. Time for some shuteye.
