Acronis 2014 backup restore fails because it cannot reboot into Acronis

Thread needs solution

Hi. I have just upgraded to Acronis 2014 because I now have a Windows 8.1 64bit Acer V3.

Acronis backup operations all work fine, secure zone has installed and supposed acronis loader has installed successfully too. However any operation which requires a reboot fails because it only boots into Windows 8 and not into the Linus version of Acronis.

The F11 boot option does not work and neither does the bootable media from CD or USB

The only way I can get it to work is to go into the BIOS and set the bios back to Legacy boot from UEFI and boot from external media into Acronis. Then reverse the process to get back into Windows 8

Surely when you pay this much for a program that is supposed to work with windows 8 this should not happen.

How do I solve this problem?

I don't think you can fix the problem yourself. Switching to legacy BIOS is the only workaround.

Hi Tobias,

welcome to Acronis Forum!

Pat, thank you very much for helping!

Actually, Pat is right, if there are some difficulties with booting into Acronis Linux it should be investigated on case by case basis.

Please contact our support team with a step-by-step description of the situation.

Thank you.
