Acronis 2014 creating foders, and starts backing up automatically

Thread needs solution

Hi.

How do I get Acronis 2014 to not create folders on drives where I used to have b/us, but not any more?

Also, when I launch Acronis from my desktop shortcut, it starts creating a disk image automatically. How do I turn this feature off?

Thanks in advance.

rithwraith, from the symptoms that you describe, there is a problem with the Acronis Database information as this is where that type of information is retrieved from.

To start, please download the Acronis Scheduler Manager from the link in my signature below:  Run the schedmgr.exe program as Administrator which will cause a command type window to open.  In this window, type the command get list which will list all current scheduled tasks known in the system, then type task zap which will remove all those scheduled tasks.  Close the Scheduler Manager window.

Next, the Acronis Database needs to be cleaned up which requires that all Acronis Services and Programs are stopped - the Services should be stopped first - right-click on the task bar then select Task Manager - click on the Services button shown in the Task Manager, then stop all the Acronis Services shown (sort on the Description column).

Next end all the Acronis Programs shown in Task Manager.

Now, in Windows Explorer navigate to C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\ and rename (or delete) the Database folder you find there.  When you next launch ATIH 2014 the database will be rebuilt and the issues you were seeing should be resolved.
