Acronis 2014 Non-Stop Backup Not Current

Thread needs solution

I just had an issue with Windows Live Mail 2012 and had to restore my entire email library when I noticed that the most recent backup was from 06/25/2014... It is now 06/30/2014! I know I lost some important email messages and can not recover them despite that I am using Acronis 2014 Non-Stop Backup. The Acronis icon in the system tray states that Nonstop Backup is running, yet I am seeing old information. I wanted to restore my email folder from yesterday!

I am running Windows 8.1.1 x64, 8MB RAM, 2TB HDD, and I an using a WD Elite 1.5TB external HD for my backups (via USB 2.0). I am also taking full image backups every two weeks with differential backups every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, in addition to the Nonstop Backup... You can never be too careful.

If the nonstop backup is not working for email, should I be doing something different, like backing up the Windows Live Mail folder every day. I bought this thinking that "Non-Stop" meant exactly that, and that was because the WD Smartware software would NOT stop running it's continuous backup despite having completed the task... In fact, the WD Smartware caused all four of my CPUs to run at 30% with NO writes to the external HD AFTER the backup completed! (Stupidware is more like it!)

To add to the frustration, I just purchased this software on 05/27/2014... Since it is now 06/30/2014 (the first time I had to do a restoration) I am outside of the warranty for live help! THIRTY DAYS ASSISTANCE? What kind of company IS this ANYWAY? Don't they have any confidence in their product? How can you tell if this product is working correctly in only 30 days? I can't tell if this is supposed to work this way, in which case the term "Non-Stop" is misleading, or if it is a genuine bug, which the company does not allow its clients to question other than in these "unsupported" forums. Sure, I could pay the $20/incident fee, but why pay enough to BUY the software again to have a simple question answered?

I am not always IN Windows Live Mail, so the problem can't be that the files are being held by that process. I can copy the folder to my external HD MANUALLY, so why can't Acronis do it AUTOMATICALLY?

Also, to say that you have to use this forum to get your answers is certainly NOT user friendly! I tried to find ANYTHING relating to my experience and I see 4,361 threads, with none of the "Most Relevant" threads a help at all!

Can I restore just the email folder from my image backups without having to restore everything? Should I be doing something different? Should I be using different backup/recovery software?

Thanks in advance,

Bob

Bob,

You can restore just your email folder from your image backups and is your best course here. Am supplying a link that discusses Windows Live Mail and ATI 2014.
