Acronis 2015 does not work for me

Thread needs solution

I have used Acronis TIH for many years. I now upgraded to 2015. It does not seem to be suitable for my way of backing up. I backup C-drive to E-drive (which exists only for my backups). When I do partitions backup, I get message that Acronis could not take Snapshot. When I backup full PC, it also backs up E-drive with the backups, which I do not want. It also does not validate partition backups and they are difficult to delete. Sometimes I restore individual files and it also does not seem to work. Is there any problem to go on using Acronis 2014 (and hoping that a later version will suit me better)??

If you select 'backup full PC' it will backup the complete PC.

Assuming your E drive is a physically separate drive rather than just a partition, you need to select either partition or complete disk instead of PC.

I am looking to purchase Acronis True Image 2015 - I run Windows 7 on a a Macbook Pro via Parallels.
Do I need to purchase 2 x licenses ie 1 x Mac and 1 x Windows OR will the backup copy/image both Mac and Windows ??
Thanks in advance

Ian,

There is a special option where you purchase both - one for serial for Mac and one for Windows.

The two combined options are - PC + Mac and PC+Mac Unlimited. The latter includes cloud access or to be more precise it comes with a cloud subscription, with the basic package you can always buy a cloud subscription at a later stage, obviously it is more expensice that way.

http://www.acronis.com/en-au/personal/pc-mac-backup/ you will need to switch to your country's website to get the correct price.

You will get two installers.

Hi Colin, thanks for your answer, but there was a misunderstanding. I realize that I should use the disk and partition backup, but it does not work (error message: cannot provide snapshop). So I tried backing up the full PC, but it also does not work, because it will not backup "E" as it is backing up to E. I also found that I cannot delete individual backups nor can I restore individual files. Moreover, I cannot validate the backup. Do you think that they are solvable problems or should I stick to the 2014 and get a refund for 2015. Helga P.S. I also found that my C-drive was suddenly 159 GB, when it should have been 100 GB.
