Acronis 2015 keeps freezing up and will not let me change destination for backups
Acronis 2012 worked great. A completely no problem solution for me except that it would lock and freeze the computer when I needed to shut it down because it wanted to do a backup.
I called support and they said that I needed to upgrade to 2015 to fix the problem. Now it freezes more that before! It doesn't want to identify a NAS based upon its name, it will only sync with it depending on IP address. So I was somehow able to edit the IP address but it was a really long process of waiting for several minutes between the program being completely locked up.
My LAN assigned a new IP address to my NAS recently when I rebooted my router. Now again its frozen up unless I can edit the IP address to update it to the new location. This is SUPER FRUSTRATING. Because once it tries to contact the NAS it won't give you the option to cancel or to stop it for 5 or 10 minutes. Then once it stops being "locked" you have to be extremely careful what settings you try to edit or it will lock back up again trying to contact the NAS at the IP address which is incorrect.
This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable. As a user I should be able to tell your software product to cancel whatever it is doing so that I can edit the settings of existing backups. I am growing very tired of your product.
Here is what I need:
1. Acronis to stop freezing just because it can't find the location of my NAS. There must be a setting I can change where after it fails to find my NAS in approximately 30 seconds or so it gives up and lets me change settings rather than 5 or 10 minutes.
2. the exact steps I need to take to update the IP address (this wasn't even required in 2012 because it would recognize the drive by its name not its IP). Or how do I fix your product so it worked like it did before.
I paid 50 dollars (I paid for 20 dollars support phone call) because your product kept freezing at really inconvenient times and the problem persists, even it got worse. Its really annoying. I wish you guys would get this right.

Acronis will not minimize! Acronis will not close! Acronis will not do anything you ask it to do. What good is it?

So now what? I already repaired this installation with a report representative on the line. Seems like this is just how 2015 is, its very nature just wants to freeze and not allow you to minimize, close, or edit settings.

A good chance the delay may be the non-existent or non-connected location.
Click the operations tab and try using the MOVE option and there may be a delay before the destination part is accessible.

Many of the problems were fixed by deleting all of the 2012 backups and starting fresh with new 2015 backups. Seems like this was a compatibility issue.
