Acronis and hardware Bitlocker

Thread needs solution

Hello,
I wish to acomplish the following:

A system running Windows 8.1 with UEFI boot and no BitLocker activated. Want to swap SSDs to enable hardware BitLocker.

Copy partitions from one GPT SSD to another blank SSD replicating all partitions. At the same time the new SSD is capable of doing hardware BitLocker if started with a clean install. see this article:
https://helgeklein.com/blog/2015/01/how-to-enable-bitlocker-hardware-en…

Question:
Will ATI enable this flag on the new blank SSD so hardware BitLocker can be activated later on.

Regards,
Henning

Quote from linked article "One very important thing is uninitialized state: it means that you cannot clone a drive with data on it and enable BitLocker with hardware encryption afterwards."

If you are working with a data drive only not a system (OS) drive then following the instructions in the article should work. ATI will not enable the flag for hardware encryption to the best of my knowledge.

I think that attempting this on an OS drive is a bit risky so if you intend to do that you should create a full disk image backup of the drive first and verify that that image can be restored before attempting this procedure.
