Acronis boot disc unable to boot up

Thread needs solution

on my computer, I installed windows xp, backed up the xp partition using acronis, and then installed linux and dual boot with grub loader

now my windows is screwed up and I wish to recover it, I try to use the Acronis bootdisc and it failed to load.

Acronis loader fatal error: boot drive (partition) not found.

I think my acronis is version 10, I remember reading somewhere that acronis now supports dual booting with linux, but I don't know if it means using linux boot loader or acronis boot loader.

I want to know how I can boot up and recover the windows xp file I made, thanks

The OS's you have installed on your PC shouldn't affect the rescue CD booting.

Has the rescue disk ever worked?

If you log into your Acronis account, the version of TI that you have should appear there, assuming of course you registered it.

Is this rescue CD one you made via the Bootable Rescue Media Builder or did your copy of TI come on a bootable disk?

I created the bootdisc from the TI and used it ever since I fresh install windows OS. I found it more flexible than the actual TI software.

So if I understand you correctly, you have used the rescue CD previously and it worked with no problems?

If that is so, have you made any hardware changes to your system recently?

Does the CD boot correctly on a different machine?
