acronis cannot connect to the sync server. the sync will be restarted automatically later
Not sure why I cannot complete a sync today. Is this an ongoing problem with Acronis or just a little hiccup? I really bought the software package for syncing and now that seems to be hit o miss.
I would appreciate any help in this matter.

Don't expect a speedy or accurate response to this support question. I spent 2 hours on the phone with them today - a support incident that I had to pay for - and the tech was remotely running my machines and he kept getting the same error and told me he didn't know why after running all kinds of tests and playing with it. He said the sync was still working but the and the error was wrong. However, he wanted me to gather all my log files, take screen shots, etc. and send it to them so engineers could look at it. Since everyone is reporting this problem you would think they would be on top of it.
Also, in reply to the other poster. I don't think Acronis monitors these forums.

I'm looking for an option for syncing. While Acronis does a lot of stuff and the backup works well and fast I'm appalled with the support, especially the documentation and the big one - only 30 days of free support. I purchased 2 3-pack licenses of Acronis True Image 2014 (6 licenses total) because I did try before I bought. I tried the backup and a few other options but not syncing and such. I read great reviews and had good success with trying and the backing up so I 'assumed' the best. This purchase was for our 6 home computers and mobile devices that is also our small business. So, I wasn't under the gun to install. I bought just before Christmas and didn't get around to installing and playing with until later in January. I run into problems and am told that support is only free for 30 days after purchase. That really pissed me off. I could have gotten past that if the documentation was correct and robust - I can figure most things out on my own given decent reference resources.
My biggest need is syncing. I have my own NAS that works as a cloud device. I want 'Dropbox' like functionality using the hardware I have and not paying someone from now until I die for more than 5GB of cloud storage. Okay, that's extreme. Hopefully technology will completely change again, several times, before I die and there will be other things I need to worry about. Like my mind/machine interface to my quantum computer based fake fingernail and holographic heads-up display.
BTW, I'm looking at GooodSyn for my needs

So Acronis is claiming the syncs are fine/complete, disregard error messages? I just tried Goodsync earlier as well. I am leaning towards using this product myself.

If I didn't know better I'd think my tech call and all the postings about 'Cannot connect to server, will try again later' got them to fix something. My sync has been running fine since about 30 minutes before I received the follow-up email from tech support. I haven't gotten the error message since around 8:30 EST. I know that their architecture requires you to be connected to the net and part of a sync scheme that you can 'manage' online. So, something on their servers is part of and monitors your syncs and I think they fixed it.
Anyone else still getting that error message this evening?

Interestingly my synchronization schemes started working just fine around 8:30 pm EST as I posted above. FYI, this was my response to their tech support email.
EDIT: Actually, the problem stopped at 8:47 pm EST exactly.

While I can't be certain, I believe your engineers fixed a problem on your end. I had continued to get the warning/error message all day 'Cannot connect to server....' and tried a few different scenarios but always the same problem plus the synchronization wasn't working well. It appeared to work but not completely or with any usable response time. I was also getting an error in the logs 'XXXX file did not synchronize. Failed to apply metadata changes.' I was getting this error in the logs for quite some time and then around 8:30 pm EST (about 40 minutes before you sent this email) the warning/error message stopped showing up and my folders/files started synchronizing just fine. Whatever it was, your engineers must have fixed it because I did nothing on my computers and things just started working like they were supposed to.
If I have any other issues tonight I'll report them along with the logs and screen shots.

As of 10:19 PM CST, I am still getting the error "Cannot Connect to the sync server.
Nothing has changed on my end. I'll check again tomorrow.

Interesting, I'm not getting any error messages, in the logs or on the screen, but my major, first time sync of a folder with a lot of files seems to be stalled and I would say that was maybe an hour ago since it has been sitting there. That corresponds closely with me.
Get it together Acronis.

Getting tired. I'm ready to give up on Acronis for syncs. Still getting 'Cannot connect to sync server' errors. Still doing weird things. The UI keeps (Not Responding). I've put too much time on this today. I'll let it run overnight and if they don't have it fixed by tomorrow I'm abandoning Acronis.

Interesting to reade these comments from nearly 2 years ago. I am using "2014" and it had worked well ALL YEAR! I started having the "Cannot connect to the sync server" error just after CHristmas 2015. Seems this problem happens every year as the calendar year changes.
I'm wondering if you are now having the problem? Or, perhaps you have moved one to a different program provider.
