Acronis doesn't boot up to perform backup/restore

Thread needs solution

We have been able to run Acronis 2014 to image a number of Dell 7010. Now we are trying to create another backup from those same machines and Acronis will not fully boot. It will boot partially then reboot the machine. We have tried changing BIOS settings but none of these changes have any effect.

Are you booting from boot media or from within the OS?

Kathleen,
If using the TI Recovery CD, you must be closeby during the boot process into TrueImage so you can personally select the menu opton of TrueImage.

If not present during the boot into the CD process, the program will time out within about 15 seconds and rebooot automatically into Windows.

We have tried booting from USB and from CD. Acronis True Image 2014 hangs on booting (Legacy mode) shortly after seeing the Acronis Loading image in upper left corner of screen, then shows the splash screen. When we boot in UFEI mode the Acronis True Image loads to around the same spot as described in Legacy mode then reboots the machine. These same machines were created from an image with the same Acronis software. What would be causing Acronis to stop working where we can't even use Acronis to recover/backup?

Would these machines be running Win 8.1? Many 8.1 users are reporting issues with security and permissions, wondering if your problem may be a related issue?

Hi I don't know if this help but I have a Dell laptop and I made a boot cd so I 1ould boot into true image without running windows.

When I try and boot with the cd it gets as far as the splash screen and then just hangs there and will go no further, this boot cd works 100% ok on my other two computers so I think it might be a problem with the Dell machines, but I might be wrong

I solved this booting problem quite by chance by making a boot USB thumb drive and now it works 100%

Hope this might help
