Acronis Loader Fatal Error: boot drive (partition) not found
I just upgraded to Acronis 2014 and attempted to do something I have done (literally) hundreds of times before with an older version of the product - clone my laptop disk to an identical disk via a USB connection. Unfortunately, the re-boot fails with the error message Acronis Loader Fatal Error: boot drive (partition) not found and (fortunately) I can press enter to re-boot to Windows. I am running Windows 7.
This error occurs every time I reboot now. I don't like it very much, and suddenly I cannot clone disks.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Bob,
Thanks for the response.
After I wrote my note, I tried activating the Startup Recovery Manager. That cleared the initial error message and replaced it with MBR Error 2.
I used a Windows recovery disk to correct the MBR. However, this means to me that Acronis has two bugs they need to handle - cloning does not work, and activating the Startup Recovery Manager does not work.
Here's hoping for an update soon.
Thanks again.

I think it all depends on where and how the destination disk is connected. I just did a Win 7 clone from a small disk to a larger one and it worked perfectly using TI 2014. To do that I placed the target in the intended machine attached to port 0. The source disk was placed on another connector and I really don't think it matters what connector the source is attached to.
Given that I am thinking that had you installed your target disk into the machine and connected the source disk via USB you might not have had your issue.
Maybe you will have the opportunity to try that sometime.
