Acronis locks at 25% during backup

Win 7 64Bit Home Premium, AMD laptop. During bacjkup the system locks at 25%. No error message, just locks! I uninstalled 2012 with Revo and installed my old 2010 but the issue remained.

I neglected to mention that I was using a Seagate 1TB GoFlex as the B/U media.
