Acronis message on boot?
When I restart either my computer or my wife's computer, periodically before the blue windows screen saying logging off appears there's a black screen with the following: "Operations are in progress please wait the machine will be turned off automatically after the operations are complete"
The message stays so long I usually just turn the machine off. I was thinking that it's malware but the Windows 7 forum says it's Acronis 'if' you have same set to perform validation or backups on a schedule.
Agree?

I have always set an image backup to be validated + checked off the second option to run a monthly validation.
1. If I leave my settings as is and when I have to periodically boot--if the validation happens to be going on at the time and the validation is aborted, will Acronis realize that the task was unceremoniously interrupted and continue the validation once the machine boots up?
2. I've wondered why I bother checking the second box to periodically test the archive. If the archive is tested upon completion I don't see how or why the archive would again need to be repeatedly tested?
3. And since Acronis is asking whether to add validation to the a backup job does that imply that there is no checking going on during the writing of the archive as there is when Windows copies a file?

Your error message has been frequently reported with no single cause and varies by machine.
Some causes has been power option set to performance rather than balanced.
Other causes has been the shutdown option being set to follow a backup and using the program shutdown as the shutdown method.
If using this method, a better method has been to shutdown the machine after a backup from within TrueImage by using a shutdown command contained in a batch file, such as this extract from my guides.

I have all backups set to validate at the time of backup and I've scheduled periodic validations in addition. The machine shutdowns I'm referring to are unplanned and unscheduled. It could be a boot necessary for an update or a problem. So, based upon what I'm hearing, I'm surprised that I hadn't 'run into' an Acronis validation that was running previously.
However, my question still stands--once the validation is interrupted but the restart, will Acronis realize this and run the validation once the machine boots up?

I am never aware of Acronis restarting any function unless the user intervenes and clicks a retry or selects a new option.
Any validation that fails or does not complete, I would expect to find listed in the log files but that is an assumption on my part--not a fact.
If the validation succeeds, you should find a log file entry showing the success.
