Acronis Scheduler2 Service Disabling Automatically

Thread needs solution

**Acronis True Image Home 2010**

I am attempting to backup a NAS to a removable drive and it has failed on three different occasions now. At first I was receiving the "RPC" error so I ensured that the proper services were enabled and it fixed that problem. Now the issue I'm seeing is that the Acronis Scheduler 2 service is being disabled for some reason automatically. I am in a domain environment, however that service does not appear in the Domain Security Policy and therefore is not configured. The NAS that I am attempting to backup is @ 500GB's so I understand that it will take a little time (Acronis estimates 2 days). Because of this, I started the backup Friday before I left and checked on it first thing this morning to find it at 89% complete and still running.

Upon futher investigation, it was not still running. I checked the services to find out if they were still running and the Acronis Scheduler 2 was disabled for some reason. The logs did not show anything helpful and there does not appear to be a reason behind the service disabling itself. Has anyone experienced this issue or know of a reason this may be happening? Is there a workaround or solution to this problem?

Hello Donny,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the Acronis forum. I will do my best to help you with this.

It is possible the Acronis Scheduler service is crashing for an unknown reason, however, it is difficult to say for certain. Could you send me this report so that I can verify it?

I would recommend the following solution - please check this article and update the Acronis Scheduler Service, reboot your machine and try backing up one more time.

Let me know if you have additional questions please.

Thank you.

Hey guys, I was able to find the culprit - domain policy. Another system admin moved the Windows XP machines to another OU in Active Directory and had the service disabled in those policies. Changing to service to automatic/started in group policy fixed it.

How long should the backup take to accomplish? I'm not looking for exact numbers...just avg time based on amount of data. My NAS has @ 400GB of data and the backup has been running since yesterday morning. When I checked on it this morning it's only 20% complete and showing over 2 days left....is that normal?

I managed to resolve the issue of scheduler2 service disabling and as far as I can tell the Acronis software is working properly...it's just taking an insane amount of time to perform a backup. Our network runs at 1GB and the network statistics suggest it's not being taxed in the slightest bit. I realize there are many different factors involved, but does anyone have an idea of how long a generic backup (normal compression, medium level priority, etc) of @400GB's should take? Certainly not 2.5 days....right?

I have Acronis 2013.
Out of the blue the automatic scheduler didn't work anymore.
I dowloaded acronis.scheduler.467 and it seemed working properly. Now again it doesn't work.
