Acronis stops after 23,38 MB

Thread needs solution

9/22/2016 we have installed the new version of ACT 18. To get ACT running Microsoft SQL 2005 was deinstalled and Microsoft SQL 2014 was installed.

Since then?? Acronis did not work. So I have deinstalled it today and then newly installed.

As a result it allways runs up to 23,38 MB. This aplies also if I start the program as administrator.

To attach the system report does not work. 6 MB??

Helmut, welcome to these user forums.

Did you have an earlier version of ATIH installed before you installed ATIH 2015?

ATIH 2015 (and all other versions) should be run as Administrator due to the low level access it needs in order ot perform the task of backing up system level programs and data, the program should also have been installed as Administrator (Run as Administrator).

Please download the Log File Viewer app from the link in my signature below and check for what error messages are shown in the Service logs for your task that runs to 23.38MB.  It may also be worth while running CHKDSK /F against your source and target drives in case you have any file system errors.

You should be able to attach files of up to 20MB maximum size to the forum posts, including an Acronis System Report zip file.

Thank You Steve,

but I don't understand how do I get the app. The link takes me to:

All ATI Users...please refer to the link below regarding internal error messages contained in log files.  In most all cases, these internal error messages are not a problem, as long as the task completes successfully.

Helmut, thank you for the log files, these show that you have a problem with the Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) on your computer and this is preventing the backup task from working correctly.

For the Log File Viewer app, download the standalone version from the following link: https://forum.acronis.com/system/files/forum/2016/03/115626/read_log_file_standalone_2_2.zip
This does not need to be installed, just run the program after extracting from the zip container.

Please see post: https://forum.acronis.com/forum/45832#comment-346558 for a method provided by Acronis engineer Slava of disabling VSS for your backup task.
