Now do I have to do something before upgrade to win 7 as uninstall TI11? Or something else?

ati11 doesn't support w7 as you have found out. You would need a much more recent version.

Uninstall ati, then upgrade from vista to w7. Then if you want to install ati, use a version that was made to support w7--I think ati2010 was the first to support w7.

Btw, MS makes a compatibility tester that you can run and it will tell you which of your programs do not support w7. Those programs would need to be uninstalled or upgraded before you move to w7.

Scott thank you for reply. i used the MS compatibility tester when it said to use it first before install of win 7. It came back saying all was ok to install win 7. If I go to upgrade from ATI11 to ATI12 will it show the older backups from ATI11?

When you unsintall ati11, it will not touch your tibs (backup files). When you intall ati 2012 it won't touch your tibs. When you start ati2012, it should show the existing backups -- if not, you can browse for them from within ati.

You will need to and want to make all new tasks and I recommend storing the new tibs n new locations.

Just to be clear here, ati11 is about six years old, not to be confused with ati2011, which is one year old. There was no ati12; after ati11 came ati2009. Ati2011 and 2012 both support w7. But I'd recommend, if you're using ati2011 (or other version), uninstalling ati 2011 before upgrading from vista to w7 and then install ati2011 afterwards.

John,

Make sure you do a backup of your system after having uninstalled ATIv11, before installing 2012. This way, you will have an option for "uninstalling">
