Acronis TI 2009 shows no Harddisk @ Systembackup

Hi,

i have a big problem, i hav a client Laptop. I used Acronis Disk Direcotr to repartion the disk, after that thesystem boots without any problems. But when Acronis TI 2009 trys to run the back up task it fails bc "Can not find a partition with the path \local\hd_sign"....

I used the Acronis report tool, but the only hdd that he shows me, is an usb hdd the local disk is not shown @ the list ??

i completly removed acronis with the acronis cleaning tool and reinstalled it with the newst version but nothing.

When i run the PC in save mode aconis shows the harddisks!

@ the mom i run chkdsk.

System details:

HP 17" Laptop
Windows XP Pro SP3 patchlevel 01/10
1 GB RAM
160 GB HDD
Acronis True Image 2009 the newst that is available

can anyone help me with this big problem ?

Hello Christoph,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to solve the issue.

The source of the issue is incorrect or duplicate hard disk drive signatures in the machine. To solve the issue please do the following:

  1. Recreate the backup task and try running it again;
  2. If the issue persists, do the following:

Create Acronis Report;

- After running the report, open the created report.txt file;

- In the file, search for the signature, which appears in the error message (e.g. 2D074C67). You can search by hitting CTRL-F:

If there are two drives with the same signature, then this is the cause of the problem. The only way to change it by means of Acronis True Image is to boot the machine from Acronis Bootable Media, create a backup of this disk on another one, and then restore it back to this same drive.

If there is only one drive with such signature, then collect additional information by running AcronisInfo Utility and contact Acronis Customer Central with reference to this article and the collected information.

thx for the response.

I have done a Image with the bootcd and restored it on a new disk but when i install that hdd @ the laptop and boot i have the same Problem.

The Acronis Report Tool only see the USB Drives no internal SATA Drive. I Have send the Problem over my Account with the contact formular, and have attach the report.txt and a systeminfo createt with the Acronis TI 2010 boot cd and that option "create system report" i will attache this also to this articel.
