Acronis TI 2011 Recovery will *NOT* work... At All!

Thread needs solution

Hi,
So recently I installed a whole bunch of software onto a machine, for convenience I decided to make a backup of the system so I could simply run recover on another system and avoid going through the same installations and configurations. This has turned out to be not as simple as I originally thought.

After making the backup I ran the tool to make a bootable disk. At first I made an .iso file, then when I got a disk burned it. I tried running the disk to avail. I then used the same .iso file and made a bootable USB drive again not working. I even installed Acronis to the system and chose recovery from there again not working!

They all have the same error - Acronis will boot, but when it comes to the DOS-esque screen (after choosing to boot either Acronis or Windows) where the various components are listed and such it seems to freeze. I've even left the system on all night at some points so it's definitely freezing up.

I've tried the "acpi=off noapic" (from here http://forum.acronis.com/forum/6459), taking out USB devices (which consists of only the keyboard and mouse!) and I'm stumped. I don't seem to be finding many answers so any and all help is much appreciated.

1. What hardware and OS are on the new PC to which you want to restore, and on which you are booting the ATI Rescue Media?

2. What OS was on the old PC, from which you created the backup image?

3. To restore a backup image made on one PC to a PC with dissimilar hardware you would need the Universal Restore function which comes as part of the optional Plus Pack.
