Acronis TI 2015 trial error log messages

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

First let me say I am only using two functions of TI 2015, file backup and full disk backup on Win 7 64 bit home. I may use disk cloning but do not feel it necessary. What I do is make a full disk backup, then from that make a full bootable disk as a spare if anything goes wrong. This process makes it very quick to recover from a disaster.

I was a user of TI 11 (not TI 2011) and it worked very well. I was concerened about all those who have had issues with TI 2015, howver I have not experienced any major issues. TI 2015 works for me in the way I use it. I did have two issues with the trial version which Acronis support was completely useless for. I will admit they tried very hard to resolve but could not tell me why this was occurring. As long as the backup / recovery worked OK and the log said backup was successful, all was well.

The first one was the backup log showed

39 16/05/2015 8:00:07 PM Error while opening configuration file .
40 16/05/2015 8:00:07 PM Error occurred while creating the file.

After seeing a similar problem re TI 2014 I used that fix and it resolved the issue. The fix was login to Acronis from within TI. When I did that the error disappeared. It remains gone even if I do not login.

The second was

This went way after I paid for the product. Obviously the program is checking for the registration key, if it can't find it the error is produced, even though the backup worked OK. You would think a more relevant message would be generated.
