Acronis TI Home - Able to clone to a partition in a new disk?

Hi,

I did a W8.1 update and as a result one of disks, a non os disk, ended up being uninitialized. I think the data is still good on it. The source disk would be a 1.5 TB about half full, single partition. The destination disk would be a 3 TB disk, about half full. What I'd like to do is partition the destination disk and then do a clone to the new, empty partition. Is this possible? Will it leave the original partition on the destination disk untouched? Once I've done a recovery of the data on the problem disk, I'm thinking that I can reformat it and then restore the data. So I just need a temporary holding disk.
