Acronis TI Home moving files frome ASZ

Thread needs solution

You haven't mentioned which version of TI you are using, but.......

In theory, you could assign a drive letter to the partition and then move the images. However there are major problems with doing this!

1. The images will have a CSLID file name, which is how TI tracks the images in the SZ, the names will be totally meaningless to you.

2. TI won't be able to add any files to that image archive once you've moved them.

If you are using 2010 and Windows 7, you might (and I've not tried this) be able to convert them into a VHD file, and then convert the VHD file back to a tib with a meaningful name, but you still will need to make a new task if you want to keep using the base images.

The easiest thign is of course to make a new image to wherever you wish to store the files and just delete the SZ (from within Acronis).

Of course TI will not be able to image to the SZ whilst you ahve assigned it a drive letter.

Edward,

I haven't the faintest idea what your latest posts mean.
