Acronis TI2010 Back Up Completed with errors

Thread needs solution

One of my Scheduled back ups reports it's not completed successfully when it has. In the "Tasks & Log" section, one of my schedules is always red. I have attached a screen grab of the reported error.

It only happens with one of my back ups. I do a complete back up, but tell it to consolidate every third back up (When it exceeds 2) so I have 2 back ups for this drive. The back up works, and I can restore from it, but I think something is wrong with the consolidation.

The other drive just does a full back up and overwrites the old one, and this back up event completes without errors.

Only the back up that consolidates has errors.

Can you help?

Thank you.

Have you tried running a validation on the suspect backup file? Does it validate?
Are you in fact getting consolidations or is the backup failing and only the origfinal files are remaining in place?

I have verified it, and it's OK. I've also restored from my back ups, and succeeded.

Hello,

Scott, thanks for your assistance.

David, let me help you.

The issue was caused by the incorrect work of Acronis Scheduler Module. It seems that some tasks are still registered with it, but do not exists.

To fix the issue, you need to un-register that faulty task from the Scheduler. You have 2 ways to eliminate the issue:

Unregistering all tasks from Acronis Scheduler (easy way, but you'll delete all scheduled tasks)

  1. Download and extract the following archive:

  2. Run the script_fix.vbs file.

Unregistering separate tasks from Acronis Scheduler (more complex and time consuming)

  1. Open the operation log of Acronis True Image;

(!) To view the operation log, in the main window of the program select Tasks and Log in Acronis True Image Home 2009 or Show Log in any other version of Acronis True Image.

  2. Find the respective error entry and note the name of the mentioned script. For example:

    Error 1 108 (0X1006C) 10/29/2008 12:09:02 No such script "90F1BFEE-7B23-4E67-96EE-173F00AE9AB4"

  3. Download Acronis Scheduler Manager from http://download.acronis.com/support/schedmgr.exe

  4. Run the schedmgr.exe file and issue the following command:

    get list

  5. In the list of displayed tasks, note the number of the script that has the same name as the one that produces error entries in the log. For example:

    1-3 ~*TrueImageNotify* /dummy / script: "90F1BFEE-7B23-4E67-96EE-173F00AE9AB4" /uuid: "90F1BFEE-7B23-4E67-96EE-173F00AE9AB4"

  6. Issue the following commands:

    task [Script Number]
    task delete

    For example:

    task 1-3
    task delete

If there is more than one task that produce error entries, repeat the procedure for each of them separately.

Please reply to this thread if you need any additional assistance.

Thank you.

This looks like a good candidate for a sticky: Removing errant Tasks in ATI 2010

Hello Scott,

Actually, this information is available in our Knowledge Base article #1785.

Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Thanks

I've removed the tasks as described. I'll see what happens next time the back up runs and report back.

Nope... Still having problem here. I used the schedule manager... typed get list, and removed all tasks completely. I then created 2 new schedules, and then re-checked in schedule manager with the get list command again, and there were only 2 tasks listed.

I just noticed that I have errors listed on my schedule calendar again,

[IMG]http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b26/pookeyhead/tutorial%20crap/dfgdfg…]

so ran task scheduler, and now I have loads of tasks in there again!

[IMG]http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b26/pookeyhead/tutorial%20crap/Untitl…]

Why are these extra tasks appearing??

[edit]

I just did the whole process again. I ran schedule manager... cleared all tasks by following the guide earlier in this thread. Set my usual schedules (one for each drive), and checked that they were the only tasks using Schedule Manager.. and they were. I rebooted the machine, and again I had SIX tasks listed when running Schedule manager!

What is going on here?

Hello David,

Please try the following solution to fix the issue:

- Download the http://www.acronis.com/files/support/schedmgr.exe file ;
- Start the Command Prompt from Start -> Programs -> Accessories menu;
- Run the following commands in the folder you saved the file to:

schedmgr task zap
schedmgr service stop
schedmgr service uninstall
schedmgr service install
schedmgr service start

This should delete all Acronis scheduled tasks on the PC.

You should manage your scheduled tasks from the scratch.

If the issue still persists, please collect AcronisInfo and submit a support request with the gathered information.

Thank you.
