Acronis TIB Mounter running in proccesses

Thread needs solution

I was looking at my Tray in Windows 7 the other day and noticed this icon there and when I opened the other icons to see what it was it turned out to be Acronis TIB Mounter. Now I'm used to seeing the Acronis Monitor Icon when I'm running the Acronis 2014 backup, but it goes away when it completes. Where this one came from is news to me. What processes are supposed to be running all the time with Acronis 2014? I'm adding a screenshot of said process.

Hi Randy,
In previous and current versions of Acronis, the "TIB Mounter" Service/Process normally runs in anticipation of you mounting a TIB file to browse or explore. In earlier versions of windows, the "mounter" actually installed as a system device. To maintain compatibility, the software can behave differently depending on the OS it is installed under. It is also possible that a particular feature in the product was changed in a recently updated version or build.

I have been running Windows 7 steady. No changes at all. I personally have not updated Acronis 2014 since install. It is running 6673 at this time. Isee there is another post about someone having a new icon in someones tray that they have never seen and when I viewed the post the icon is the same one that popped on me. It is still in my tray now, but the program isn't running. Is this proper?

I have 2014 premium most current recent build 6688 running on an Asus Laptop Win 7-64 and there is NO icon nor is there any TIB mounter running.

Perhaps open TI and go to the Tools Menu and click the Image Mounting option. Click the Unmount option just in case this may be in use.

Thanks for the info, however I don't remember clicking that "mount" tool by accident or otherwise. I did click the unmount and one of my disk drives that I don't add to the backup seemed to unmount because it flashed when I clicked unmount. What do I know? That icon was never in the mix before and I didn't know where it came from. Now, you mentioned 6688 and I was still running 6673. Why didn't my TI2014 update? I had the box checked for check for updates at startup. I even manually checked and it still came up current and we now know that 6673 wasn't current. I downloaded 6688 and installed it right on top of 6673 and it worked, but that still doesn't answer why it didn't update in the first place. The icon is gone which is good, but the TIB Mounter Monitor.exe is still running in processes. Is yours similar?

Excuse the triple post

Spoke too fast. The icon is still visible in the tray. See ICON attachment

I have since learned tht 6688 was only released in the English version--for now.

The Acronis scheduler is the only service I have running.
I have "nonstop backp & synagent" services disabled and off.
