Acronis True Image 2011

Thread needs solution

In 2011 I bought Acronis True Image 2011 and used for backups until in December 2015 my hard disk went out of order. I do have a great number of backups on external hard drives, but I can not access them with Acronis True Image Home 2016 and the initial version purchased, Acronis True Image 2011, is no longer available for download. In addition, I don't have the registration key which got lost with the hard disk being out of order.

As I do have quite a number of important files in my external backups, I wonder what Acronis can do to help my solve this catch 22 problem?

Vidal, welcome to these user forums.

Unfortunately, ATIH 2016 is not backward compatible with the files created by ATIH 2011 as stated in KB document: 1689: Backup Archive Compatibility Across Different Product Versions

Acronis True Image 2016, Acronis True Image Cloud (Release 2016)
on Windows

backups of Windows computers created with:
Acronis True Image 2016, Acronis True Image Cloud (Release 2016)
Acronis True Image 2015
Acronis True Image 2014

With regard to your ATIH 2011, if this was registered to your Acronis Account online, then you should be able to sign in to that account with your email address / password, then download a copy of the Acronis Rescue Media (.ISO CD image file) that can be burnt to a CD and used to access your 2011 backup files.

If you haven't registered ATIH 2011 and have lost the serial number for it, then only Acronis Support can help you as we have no access to Acronis systems via these user forums.
