Acronis True Image 2011 makes my machine run really slow

I just bought and installed Acronis True Image 2011 (I downloaded the new version using the installer). When I boot into Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) after installing it, the login runs very slowly, (I move the mouse and several seconds later the pointer moves).

When I finally do login, my CPU monitor on the desktop gadget reads 100% and I get about the same slow mouse movement.

Is there some setting I need to change? I have a 2.0 Ghz Dual Core Intel with 4GBs of RAM. (http://rog.asus.com/Product.aspx?PId=25)

I've turned off two of the services (Acronis NonStop & Acronis Schedule2 Service) that begin with Acronis in safe mode, and now TrueImageTools.exe seems to be eating up 33% of my CPU, but it's bearable enough that I can operate my computer again.

What do these two services do, and what changes can I make to get them running without my computer slowing to crawl?

Do I need the 64-bit version or something?
(is there one?)

I am having a similar problem. I installed True Image on Win 7 Pro 64 bit and everything was ok. I then installed the plus pack and suddenly everything takes a long time to login. Approximatley, 20 seconds longer. My solid state drives barely flickers on login. I uninstalled the product and I am back to normal. Would like a better long term solution.

It looks like Plus Pack drivers conflicts with something, and it causes the system resources usage. We can investigate the issue, but if you would like to avoid installing Plus Pack onto your machine again, I can advise you to download it's bootable media, burn it onto the CD and use it offline.

Should you decide to proceed with the investigation, please reproduce the issue and gather the following investigation data: 

  1. Procmon
  2. Acronis Info

submit a case with the information attached, and let us know it's number.
