Acronis True Image 2015: Backup of a Disk Encrypted with Bitlocker Is Very Large

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I have updated from Acronis 2013 (which worked perfect for me) to the latest version - actually only to stay up to date with the latest developments. Unfortunately I had to find out that the new version is not able to back up Bitlocker encrypted discs in an acceptable way. Every backup (and every incremental backup) lasts for many hours (even on SSD) and is BIGGER THAN ALL DATA stored on the volume.
I understand, that this topic is already known to Acronis since last year and I found a statement that they are working on this issue.
Now we have March 2015 and my question is, when will Acronis provide a solution to this issue (or did I invest money for the new release in vain) ????
AND - I will not reduce my security and disable Bitlocker!
Cheers - Roland

Is anybody using True Image 2015 to back up Bitlocker encrypted files??????????

This problem has been discussed a number of times. See https://forum.acronis.com/forum/84464 for a workaround.

Thank you Paul for this link! This workaround may be acceptable for a 1-time backup. I want to make automatic incremental backups every day. The described routine is not useful for that purpose. Since in the previous version of True Image there was no issue with Bitlocker my simple question to Acronis is: "When do you intend to fix this recognized bug?" If the answer is never, it should be advertised, that the software is not intended to be used in this scenario.

Same problem with DiskCryptor. I encrypted the system partition and now it is doing a sector by sector backup.
As a consequence, the backup is much bigger since it also makes a backup of the empty space.

I hope they are going to fix this, otherwise the software is useless for me.

HMMMM - is there anybody from ACRONIS who can issue an official statement to this topic? This would be really nice!
