Acronis True Image HD 2014 : move back up ?

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I'm using True Image HD 2014, and I made an image back up of my system. My system is on C: and I saved the back up on another internal hard drive : D:

Now, can I just copy and paste the .tib file somewhere else, on an external hard drive or any hard drive ? Will the boot software recognize a .tib file which is not on the original support where it was saved on ?(Which means, will it scan for every device connected to the computer until it finds a .tib file ?)

Or does the image back up has to be on D: to be found when recovery is needed ?

Thank you.

Hello, you can move the backup .tib image to another location, or perhaps, better to copy it to another location unless you need to reclaim the space that the archive file takes up on your internal drive D:

The main issue with moving backup archive files (.tib) is if you have created a backup task in the ATIH 2014 main application GUI where this will 'break' that backup task unless you just do a copy.

After copying or moving the backup archive file, you should run a Validate of the backup file in the new location to make sure that it has not been corrupted by the process of moving it.

When recovery is needed, you will need to attach the external disk drive to your computer and 'browse' to the location where the backup archive image is store in order to select it for using in recovery.  The bootable rescue media or Acronis Startup Recovery Manager will not scan for any image files that may be present on external drives so you will need to 'tell' it where to find the one you want to recover from.
