Acronis True Image Home 11 Versus BlackArmor software

Thread needs solution

I have licenses for both of these backup software packages and I know they are both Acronis, the Blackarmor being an earlier version.

About a year ago, one of my Laptops crashed and the BA saved my butt.

I have a Blackarmor 2TB NAS 110, a Seagate 2TB GoFlex Home NAS, two Lenovo Windows 7 laptops, and an HP desktop running XP.

I'm uncertain if the Blackarmor software will recognize the Seagate GoFlex Home NAS as a destination. At the current time the Blackarmor software won't even see the Blackarmor NAS, but that's another story. Seagate has escalated that issue (to Acronis).

The Blackarmor GUI seems to me to be a more friendly interface, but it might just be that I've been running it for a couple of years (on a single Seagate USB drive).

I've had issues with the Acronis 11 backing up to the GoFlex, but they may be networking / sleep related.

Also, it seems to me that Seagate support is easier to deal with than Acronis.

I know this forum is made up of Acronis users, but does anyone see any advantage to continue to run the older Acronis (BlackArmor) software? I would like to run partition (image) backups as well as file/incrementals. I really don't care about non-stop.

Thank you in advance.
