Acronis True Image Home 11: , Windows 7, automatic Backup (weekly) on external USB Harddisk fails, no call for Harddisk
Dear colleagues,
I installed Acronis True Image on a Windows 7 Home Premium System, 64 bit, Notebook from HP.
Acronis True Image Home, I think latest release (it was 3 weeks before when software was up-to-date), and was setup do do automatically weekly backups to an external harddisk per USB. And it was told that Acronis should remind the user to plug in that harddisk when using the notebook, or the next time when using the notebook after that backup moment when missing that point of time.
I think it was every Tuesday at 11 o'clock.
The manual backups went all through, no problems, everything ok.
But the recurring Backup doesn't work.
No message window appears, that a Backup was started, no error message that the external harddisk misses, and no messages to plug in the external drive when a backup was not possibe because notebook is shut down.
That's the situation!
Anyone knows something to help?
Thanks!
Thilo

Often the schedule turns itself off after you reboot and has to be turned on again manually by selecting 'Turn on' adjacent to Schedule under the Backup now button

Thanks....
is that a bug?
I cannot trust in auto-backup-funktions on external hard drives?

I didn't see the behavior of losing the schedule of tasks in ATI 2011 yet.
If the task doesn't follow the schedule:
+ verify the schedule in the backup list,
+ if it is there and doesn't execute:
- verify in the log if there is another error message at the time of the expected backup,
- if none, delete the schedule using ACronis Schedmgr http://kb.acronis.com/content/1859
- reschedule the task
+ if not fixed yet, do a repair install of the program.

there's a green icon with a red cross if there's no external harddisk in the USB drive...
the green Icon cannot be closed by right click on it, and if there's a backup session, there seems to be no data of backup file that is created... in the basic or root directory, there cannot be found any file, and there are no file of that time or name in another directory.
There are 2 different backup processes, so tell it clear ;-)
I thought that there are incremental backups, so therefore must be several image files on that main process, there's only one file...
