Acronis True Image Home 2009

Thread needs solution

Finally trying to use Acronis for a backup with Windows 7. Don't understand the following message and not comfortable saying Yes. "Backup archive file will be created on volume of GUID partition table (GPT) disk. You will not be able to restore this backup archive when booting from the rescue media. Are you sure?" When I say NO it won't proceed with the backup.

Robert,

Please see post: https://forum.acronis.com/forum/119666#comment-365312 which explains the reason for the message that you are seeing.

See KB document: 5684: EFI Based Operating Systems Support in Acronis Products which shows that your ATIH 2009 does not support UEFI boot systems via the note below the list of Acronis products that have this support, where it states:

(!) Other Acronis products do not support systems with Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI).

Unfortunately, you will need to obtain a later version of Acronis True Image (or use a different product which supports your Windows 7 UEFI system.
